Arrow pass is marked with an inlay of stone powder/glue mixture.
This was an oval shaped stave, using the flatter side. The other half was not usable (rotten). At handle section is the exact half of the stave, you can see the half diameter pith groove.
The wood of elder is a bit boring. I decided to stain the back with red, yellow and black. Thrown in salt in the still wet dye results in the spotted appearance. Finished with several coats of hard oil.
Single nocks (side nocks) are opposing, below is a wrapping soaked in shellac to prevent splitting (string cutting).
