This bow shows good how thin tips can be made to save mass. These needle tips are only a few millimeters wide, and they are self tips. The ‘overlays’ are naturally grown additional rings on the back, nothing is glued on.
Also at the handle area are additional rings to allow a secure carving on the bow’s back. The carved handle fits the palm nicely. A tiny brass cylinder shows the right arrow position.
The stave was more or less clean, but shows some humps and bumps on the back. Only little heat corrections were necessary to bring it in line and balance. The limbs have a low crown, so I thought a belly ridge over the entire length is a good idea and an adequate item to the carved handle.
