Osage flipped flattie with beetle nocks 53#/26 (No. 149)

The stave was nice and clean, only a few pin knots – no problem. The wood is relative dark, probably because of the habitat conditions, I don’t know.

The stave was wide but thin, suitable for a bendy handle bow. The flipped tips are steamed in, minor corrections with heat gun for string alignment. The stave had a bit of natural deflex at handle, so the side profile looks like a mild deflex reflex bow.

Nocks are buffalo horn, I tried to shape them a bit like a beetle. Handle wrap is leather lacing (one round, one flat).
