Boo is short for bamboo.
In this case that boo was a tomato stick in his former life.
Since 6 years or so I harvest my arrow blancs in my garden.
I get 200-300 shafts every year. That boo is Japanese arrow bamboo (pseudosasa japonica).
You can easily straighten the blancs with heat.
