Juniper flattie 38/26 (No.110)

Here is a bow from a really expressive character stave with wonderful colors.
A selection of the problems (= character, ha-ha):

  • It has a tremendous changing crown – causing particularly hollowed out belly;
  • Portions of ingrown dead wood;
  • Huge hole in lower limb;
    It was hard work to tiller this little bow, but finally a pleasure. The smell of this wood is fantastic, esp. when heated. I did a light heat treatment here.
    She still holds a 1” reflex, no set.
    The single notched (opposing) tips and the raw hide handle makes a rustic, primitive appearance.

It is simply a work of art, which gives this wood new life, and the past history and life of this wood are carved on this work of art, oh my god ! Love this bow so much
